Flights

No matter the time, no matter the place,
there will always be a dream to chase.
We search and hunt, across the skies,
sometimes taking time, by surprise!

I took this picture at Bandstand, Bombay. Have cropped the various rocks, sun and couples in varying degrees of amorous raptures for a panoramic view. And as always, I had something to say about it. So I have written it.
Let me know how you like it.
ps-this is the picture, with that line printed on the bottom,
that I gifted my father on the day he retired.
A huge 3ft by 2ft of it.

Leaving a house for my home
From shackles flying free
But bound in duty though i was
I'll always miss the sea.

That would be Creative with a capital C.
Cant figure out who is more fortunate you or your father. you are fortunate that you had the opportunity to make such a beautiful gift.and your father fortunate to have a son who is thoughtful enough to make such a meaningful gesture. i think perhaps this is a sunset right??? i can actually see those waves move if i stare long and hard enough.or is it a trick of the shimmering light you have managed to capture. cheers Harjee.

hey ,....

nice set of lines ...
but i feel the rhythm doesnt match in the last 2 lines ... or mayb , i am reading it w/ the wrong pauses ..

the pic is great ... very smooth blend ... is this the actual snap or made over w/ adobe etc ? i mean , u used the word " crop " .. so , i got the feeling that u have modified the pic ...

ur dad must be so happy ...

3x2 ft ... gosh !!!!

what do u do , btw ?

Nowheregirl: I cant say how….that would be attributed to luck and Prabhu Digital Printers. Can tell you the legends of the picture though…
Time is about 4:30 in the evening. Any later and the picture will go red.
Aperture is tight. About 8-11. Shutter speed maximum. ISO 100.
And yes, a UV lens always helps  thanks for the kind words….
Ekta: Thank you…Yes I think it kind of fit the occasion…though Aakash beat me to it.
Aakash: That’s one of the nicest things anyone ever said to me. Thank you.
Though I wish you hadn’t commented. Your poem sounds more apt to the picture and the occasion….
Bali: Bhaa ji, Kithe gwaach gaye? Thank you so much. Bless you too…
Queenbee: Yeah…yeah…can’t blame them. Space issues and hormones usually don’t help each other…but the sea and beyond is awesome…thank you…
Noojes: very thank you
Sanjana: *blush*blush* thank you. Though I can assure you I am more fortunate than my father. Because I have the best father in the world. Better than even what he had  and he thinks he had the best…there is no trick of light Sanjana. That’s just you admiring me ;-)
Silverline: Haven’t had someone say that to me in a long time. Thank you…I pretend to believe so too…glad you liked the poem. People like the picture better and Aakash already made my lines sound like they were suffering from parkisons….wish I had written it the way he did…thank you…
Ishita: Thank you so much…
Exasperater: Thank you…glad you liked it….
Yashita: shit! Had I known it would work so well I would have saved it for a face to face;-) anyways…I made a believer out of you 
And yes…dreams are special…thank you so much
Deepa: I shot them straight from the heart Deepa…and the thought syncs.
So even if the lines don’t rhyme, it goes…
And no, I have not done any clinical changes on the picture. It is shown here the way it was taken. Cropping meant cutting a large size image to a smaller size. Say I ‘cropped’ 4 inches from the top and the bottom. So what you see is the horizon and the bird.
The sun and rocks are cut…
Yeah…this panoramic view shot would look best when it’s large….3x2 is the max they could blow it up…wish I had taken a larger size image….
I am employed as a copywriter for an advertising agency…I pretend to work; they pretend to pay me  thanks for the kind words…
Now that all ambiguity about the authenticity of the picture is cleared…hope you look at it again…

Cheers

Thank god...
Now that so many people have commented and praised your photography and writing, you can ease up on the self critique...
That's a beautiful picture Harjee. Will not comment on the lines because I have always maintained that you are the best writer I know...your narrative is too good. Will never forget the post on 'the sealed envelope'.
I think it was one of the best written stories I ever read.
Just one request, please update more often ;-)

Zarine: You are too kind with word, too hot to handle and married to someone else.

ok...the last bit was not needed!!! but had you been so kind to me in college....

thank you so much for your kind words, but i still maintain that i can't write. i feel i need to shorten my posts and make them crisp. alas...i fail most of the time...and hence can't update more often. will try, i promise.

and like you, people are kind with words.
thanks zee...will see you around...
